Nine individuals were arrested for a total of 10 outstanding warrants and other crimes during an inter-agency warrant sweep Wednesday in Puna. The sweep was conducted by officers from the Hawaii Police Department, Hawaii State Sheriff’s Department, and the Department of Land and Natural Resources. The warrants were for contempt of court and violating conditions of bail.

During the sweep, officers searched a motor vehicle with drug paraphernalia and arrested the lone occupant, Christopher Asagra, on suspicion of methamphetamine possession, police said.
