James Caravalho, 80, of Pearl City, Oahu, died Aug. 19 at Pali Momi Medical Center in Aiea, Oahu. Born and raised in North Kohala, he was a retired Honolulu Fire Department captain and U.S. Army veteran. Visitation 9-10 a.m. Friday (June 3) at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Pearl City. HFD honors at 10 a.m. Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Inurnment 1 p.m. at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific (Punchbowl). Survived by wife, Geraldine; sons, James (Caroleen) Caravalho Jr. of Mililani, Oahu, and Jeffrey (Farrah) Caravalho of Makakilo, Oahu; daughter, Jennifer (Edward) Silva of Makakilo; brother, Kenneth Caravalho of Hilo; four grandchildren.

Barbara Jean De Silva, 79, of Kurtistown died April 20 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, she was a homemaker, worked at Honokaa Post Office and was a member of Mountain View Senior Center. A drive-thru celebration of life visitation only 9 a.m.-noon Saturday (June 4) at Dodo Mortuary upper carport. Survived by husband, Earl “Bradda Silva” De Silva; daughters, Renee (Ray) Wilson, Raynette Filoteo and Laurie (Lloyd) Miday; hanai son, Keone (Amanda) De Silva; sisters, Diane (Samuel Sr.) Alameda and Betty Willis; brother, Stephen (Amy) Mc Donald; sisters-in-law, Dora Mc Donald and Jessie (George) Sanborn; brother-in-law, Donald Medeiros; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. Mason Terray Fiesta, 31, of Honomu May 18 at his home in Orchidland Estates. Born in Camp Lejeune, N.C., he was a construction mason and laborer, Hilo High School graduate and graduate of a culinary program. Visitation 4-6 p.m. Friday (June 3) at Dodo Mortuary. Theodore Kealohapumehana Lindsey, 59, of Waimea died May 11 at home. Born in Hamakua, he was a pipefitter for the county Department of Water Supply and member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
