Jodean Marie Dela Cruz, 76, of Hilo died Dec. 11 at home. Born in Michigan City, Ind., she was a retired Hawaii public school teacher and administrator, member of the U.S. Peace Corps in the Philippines and quilter. Celebration of life held on March 5. Survived by husband, Romel Dela Cruz of Hilo; sons, Rene (Mina) Dela Cruz of Las Vegas and Jason (Mimi) Dela Cruz of Hilo; sisters, Kathleen (Ronald) Heinrich of Colorado and Rebecca Schneider of Michigan; sister-in-law, Alice (Clyde) Dela Cruz-Bailado of Paauilo; four grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. Wilson-Leonardo Espiritu Hernandez, 63 of Kapaau died April 17 in Kapaau. Born in the Philippines he was a landscaper.
