A 24-year-old Hilo man faces seven charges, five of them felonies, after a series of domestic incidents.

On Thursday, Hilo District Judge Kanani Laubach denied a defense request to free Rescue Suda on court-supervised release without monetary bail. Laubach maintained Suda’s bail at $18,000 and ordered him to return to court Tuesday for a preliminary hearing.

Suda is charged with kidnapping, second-degree assault, auto theft and two counts each of first-degree terroristic threatening and domestic abuse.

According to police, the incidents took place on Monday at a Manono Street home and Honolii Beach Park in Hilo, and in Waimea.

Among numerous allegations are that Suda struck his girlfriend twice and held her against her will, and assaulted his girlfriend’s brother with a beer bottle, police said.
