Roxanne Noelani Bertelmann, 65, of Mountain View died Dec. 5, 2021, at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in Moses Lake, Wash., she was a massage therapist, hula dancer, Hawaiian crafter and U.S. Army veteran. Rosary and eulogy noon Saturday, April 2, at Annunciation Catholic Church in Waimea. Mass at 1 p.m. Casual attire. Live streaming of Mass at bigislandcatholicchurch.org via Facebook link. After Mass, celebration of life until 4:30 p.m. at Spencer Beach Park Pavilion in Waimea. Bradley Albert Dutton, 52, of Hilo died Dec. 17, 2021, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a diesel mechanic for Kenworth Hawaii Hilo and distributor for Snap-on Tools. Visitation 9-10 a.m. Saturday (March 19) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Celebration of life at 10 a.m.. Casual attire; face masks and social distancing required. Survived by daughters, Brandi Keohokapu-Dutton and Summer Keohokapu-Dutton of Hilo; brothers, Ashley (Anela) Perreira of Pahoa and Ward Dutton of Pahoa; five grandchildren. Samuel Hoomanawanui Kalama, 68, of Keei Beach died Jan. 26 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Honolulu, he was a public school reading assistant, U.S. Army veteran and member of the Berlin Brigade. Cheyne Evan Keanuenueokalani Lassiter, 33, of Honolulu, formerly of Keaau, died Feb. 2 at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in Fort Riley, Kansas, he was a former flight attendant with Island Air, Mokulele and Ryan International Airlines. Graveside service 9:15 a.m. Wednesday (March 16) at Mililani Memorial Park and Mortuary followed by celebration of life. Survived by mother, Derede Johnasen; father David (Rinda) Lassiter Jr.; brother, David Lassiter III; sister, Alyssa (Jeremy) Chabarria; nephews, niece, grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins. Dora Takako Okazaki, 84, of Hilo died Feb. 10 at Hale Ku‘ike Care Home in Honolulu. Born in Hilo, she was a retired educator and farmer. Private services April 2 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Survived by sons, Lloyd (Karen) Okazaki and Keith Okazaki of Mililani, Oahu, Carl (Ji) Okazaki of San Francisco; brother, Roy (Harriet Iyo) Aramori of Kona; sisters, Grace (Roy) Kyono of Bloomington, Minn., and Ann (Robert) Kerwin of San Jose, Calif.; four grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Loretta Marie Pigeon-Souza, 74, of Honokaa died Feb. 7 at home. Born in Hakalau, she was a civilian analyst for the Department of the Navy and historian for the Hawaiian State Society of Washington, D.C. Graveside urn committal service 2 p.,m. Katherine “Carrie” Tamala, 91, of Wainaku died Feb. 2 at home. Born in Hilo, she was a homemaker and member of Glad Tidings Church. Visitation only 4-6 p.m. Friday (March 18) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Visitation again 10-11 a.m. Saturday (March 19) at Glad Tidings Church. Funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at the Alae Cemetery. Casual attire; face masks still required indoors.
