Misa Jade Kaneshiro, 98, of Hilo died Feb. 1 at a private care home in Keaau. Born in Turlock, Calif., and sent with her family to Amache Relocation Center in Granada, Colo., during World War II, she was a board member of the former Food Fair Supermarkets and Kaneshiro &Sons, homemaker, gardener, member of senior bowling teams and a Hawaiian quilt and feather lei crafter. Private services held. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Survived by children, Karleen Tindall of San Francisco, Sheila Yamamoto of Honolulu, Glenn (Lynnette) Kaneshiro of Hilo, Diane Pierce of Volcano, Gale (James Pullen) Kaneshiro of San Diego and Janice (Steward) Nazzaro of Denver; brother, George Yokoi of El Cerrito, Calif.; sisters-in-law, Takeko Inouye of San Francisco and Sadako Kaneshiro of Hilo; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.

Gerald Pomaikai Kim Sr., 52, of Kainaliu died Feb. 24 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Honolulu, he was the owner of Kainaliu Gas and a member of Big Island VW Club Kona. Celebration of life at a later date. Survived by wife, Rory Kim of Kainaliu; children, Gerald Kim Jr. of Captain Cook, Amanda (Jaime Segucio) Kim of Napoopoo, Dakota Kim, Chase Kim and Blaze Kim of Kailua-Kona; parents, Roland Sr. and Sharon Kim of Kealakekua; siblings, Roland Kim Jr. of California, Kristine (Joseph) Freitas of Waimea; nieces and nephews. Bonnie Marie Palos, 49, of Waikoloa died Jan. 29 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Hilo, she was a food preparer for Waikoloa Deli. Celebration of life noon Saturday (March 12) at Laupahoehoe Beach Park Pavilion. Survived by husband, John Palos of Waikoloa; son, Preston Palos of Waikoloa; daughter, Chesney Palos of Waikoloa; brothers, Harry (Georgiann) Jose of Ahualoa, Kelly (Kekoho) Jose of Laupahoehoe, Leroy (Michelle Bugado) Jose of Ookala and Paul Jose of Hawaii; nieces, nephews and cousins. Loretta R. Tagavilla, 76, of Pahoa died March 3 at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Hilo, she was retired from the Outrigger Hotel and a member of the Alu Like kupuna program. Visitation from 9-10:30 a.m. Thursday (March 17) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Casual attire; face masks and social distancing required. Survived by husband, Daniel Simeon of Pahoa; sons, Daniel L.
