Davelynn “Blu” Leinette Bufil, 66, of Hilo died Nov. 30 at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Hilo, she was a ground supervisor for Hilo International Airport and a volunteer for Retired Seniors Volunteer Program. Drive-thru visitation 9-10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, at Wailoa River State Recreation Area Pavilion No. 3. Celebration of life at 11 a.m. Online condolences: homelanimemorialpark.com. Darnell Kaniala Mahi, 74, of Hilo died Jan. 9 at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home in Hilo. Born in Hilo, he was a retired truck driver for the former Hilo Coast Processing Co., member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, founding member of the Kumakaula Canoe Club (a.k.a. Puna Canoe Club) and U.S. Army veteran. Visitation 9-10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 18, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Hilo Stake Center, 1373 Kilauea Ave. Funeral service at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Casual attire; seating limited. Face masks and social-distancing required. Survived by son, Ammaron Mahi of Hilo; daughter, Ashlee (Ernie) Mahi-Miyasaki of Hilo; sisters, Maydean Bowman of Kohala and Ilima Mahi of North Dakota; sisters-in-law, Josephine “Sweetheart” Mahi of Hilo and S. Paul Mamoru “Uncle Paul” Tanoura, 69, of Honokaa died Jan. 29 at North Hawaii Community Hospital in Waimea. Born in Waipahu, Oahu, he was a retired ironworker and member of Iron Workers Local No. 625. Celebrations of life on Oahu and Hawaii Island to be announced. Survived by wife, Barbara Tanoura of Honokaa; son, Kristian (Jamie) Tanoura of Kaneohe, Oahu; daughter, January (Charles Comer III) Tanoura of Waianae, Oahu; hanai son, Justin (Tiffanie) Berg of Brainerd, Minn.; siblings May Inay and Albert Tanoura of Honolulu; five grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
