The state Department of Public Safety said Thursday two Hawaii Island correctional facilities reported positive COVID-19 test results.

Hawaii Community Correctional Center in Hilo reported 17 positive and 57 negative results among 74 inmate testing, and three staff members were reported as recovered from infection by the novel coronavirus.

Kulani Correctional Facility, about 20 miles southwest of Hilo on the slopes of Mauna Loa, reported three positive staff test results, one staff member recovered, and one negative inmate test result.
