Rose Marie De Pontes, 73, of Kailua-Kona died Nov. 29 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in North Kohala, she was retired. Private services. Survived by husband, Gary De Pontes of Kailua-Kona; son, Chad De Pontes of Kailua-Kona; daughter, Debbie (Jon) Mabuni of Kailua-Kona; sisters, Joanne David of Ocean View, Shirley Henderson of Louisiana and Ethel Yamamoto of North Kohala; three grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Tashiro Okunami, 86, of Hilo died Dec. 11 at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born in Honokaa, he was a retired chief automotive mechanic for the Hawaii County Fire Department and Hawaii Army National Guard veteran. Private services held. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Survived by wife, Kathy Okunami of Hilo; daughter, Diane (Gerald) Kosaki of Hilo; son, Russell (Myra Okumura) Okunami of Hilo; sisters, Tamayo Yoshioka of Papaikou, Fay (George) Yamasaki and Shirley (Ernest) Kawamoto of Hilo; sisters-in-law, Nancy Okunami of Arizona and Ruth (Dennis) Sevilla of Modesto, Calif.; brothers-in-law, Matsu Uehara of Kona and Donald Uehara of Los Angeles; three grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Michelle Limasene Paopao, 42, of Rochester, Minn., formerly of Hilo, died at home Nov. 25. Born in St. Louis, she was employed by Mayo Clinic and was a graduate of St. Joseph School, University of Hawaii at Hilo and Boulder College of Massage Therapy in Boulder, Colo. Memorial visitation noon-3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 2, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Face masks and social distancing required. Survived by husband, Michael Skillern; daughter, Madeleine; mother, Sharon; sisters, Theresa (Steve), Laura (Chase) Paopao, and Christina (Jerome) Chew; brothers, Anthony, David and Eric Paopao; three brothers- and sisters-in-law; three nieces and eight nephews, aunts and uncles.
