BIIF runner-up Konawaena lost its first-round match Wednesday at the HHSAA Division II girls volleyball tournament on Oahu, falling 25-18, 25-23, 25-16 to Maryknoll.

Three more BIIF teams will be in action Thursday. In Division I quarterfinals, BIIF champion Kamehameha, the fourth seed, faces Moanalua at its gym in Honolulu at 5 p.m. in a match that will be televised on Spectrum 16. Also at 5 p.m., BIIF runner-up Hilo draws second-seeded Kahuku at McKinley High.

In Division II, BIIF champ and No. 4 seed Hawaii Prep takes on Damien at 5 p.m. at Kaimuki in the quarterfinals. In a first-round match Wednesday, Damien dropped Leilehua 25-12, 25-14, 25-19.

The Wildcats have a consolation match Thursday against Kaleheo, which lost in three sets to Le Jardin, 25-12, 25-14, 25-13.

The Division I quarterfinals were set Wednesday when Mililani swept 25-17, 25-10, 25-10 in a first-round match that was postponed Monday because of inclement weather on the Valley Island. The Trojans’ reward: top-seeded Punahou at 7 p.m. at Moanalua on Spectrum 16. The other quarterfinal at McKinely matches third-seeded Baldwin and Kamehameha-Kapalama at 7 p.m.

On Monday in the first round, the Vikings beat Waianae in five, Kamehameha-Kapalama took out Kapolei in four and Moanalua swept Kaiser.
