Antonina Caravalho, 93 of Hilo died Nov. 26 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Kukuihaele, she was a retired caretaker and a candy maker for Honokaa Macadamia Nut Factory. Visitation at 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday (Dec. 14) at Ballard Family Mortuary. Service at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Homelani Cemetery. Face masks and social distancing required. Survived by sons, Robert J. Caravalho: daughter, Donna C. Tamashiro; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; an aunt, cousins. Arrangements by Ballard Family Mortuary.

Donna Duquette, 52, of Mountain View died Nov. 8. She was born in San Diego and raised in Hawaii. Public visitation 9-11 a.m. Tuesday (Dec. 14) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Julie Rose Hernandez, 59, of South Point died Oct. 31 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Lynwood, Calif., she was a former veterinary technician. Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 11 at Waiohinu Park. She is survived by son, Tyler Atwood of South Point; mother, Joy (Bob) De Luna of California; hanai son, Travis Akamu of South Point; hanai daughter, Monica Akamu of Ocean View; sisters, Chris Hernandez of Virginia, Michelle Dayton of California; nieces and a nephew. Ann Misako Fontes, 78, of Pahala, died Nov. 22 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Kalaheo, Kauai, she was retired from University of Hawaii at Hilo Extension Services. Private services at a later date. Preceded in death by husband, Franklin “Mac” Fontes and son, Derek Fontes. Survived by brothers, Owen (Gail) Yamaguchi of St. Louis, Howard (Joan) Yamaguchi and Dennis (Madeline) Yamaguchi of Kauai; granddaughter, Cherish M. Ray Baclig Rabena Sr., 65, of Hilo died Nov. 13 at The Queen’s Medical Center on Oahu. Born in Cabugao, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, he was a nurse’s aide for Care Resources Hawaii, tax preparer for Local Kine Tax Service and H&R Block and member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church.
