HICC sends well wishes, thanks to hospital employees

The Hawaii Island Chamber of Commerce, with support from the Hilo Medical Center Foundation, recently held a thank you card campaign for the health care workers and employees of the Hawaii Healthcare Systems Corporation’s East Hawaii Region which includes Hilo Medical Center, Hale Ho‘ola Hamakua and Ka‘u Hospital.

Chamber members and their families, other civic organizations, and community members throughout East Hawaii joined in the effort to express their messages of thanks and aloha to those dedicated workers.

Nearly 1,200 thank you cards, 1,500 goody bags and more than $2,800 in gift cards and monetary contributions were collected and delivered to the Hilo Medical Center Foundation, which will be distributing the bounty between the three HHSC facilities.

The Hawaii Island Chamber of Commerce is a private, nonprofit organization based in East Hawaii.

It represents a wide array of businesses, nonprofit organizations and professionals from around Hawaii Island who share the chamber’s mission.

The chamber provides leadership via services and advocacy for the business community while promoting the economic well-being of the island as a whole.
