Born in Honolulu, he was co-owner of HR WORKS, LLC, former state representative,U.S. Navy veteran; lineman for the former Hawaii Electric Light Co., dining room manager at the former Kona Surf Resort, state airport firefighter and fire equipment operator, Hawaii Constitutional Convention Delegate, District 1, athletic director and assistant boys basketball coach at St. Joseph High School and member of Lehua Jaycees, Rotary Club of Hilo, Hawaii Island Portuguese Chamber of Commerce, Hilo Yacht Club, Ancient Order of Foresters, Court Mauna Kea No. 8854 and board president of Going Home Hawaii.
