Yvonne Leslie Caplener, 91, of Kailua-Kona died Sept. 6 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Kapaa, Kauai, she was a retired nurse at the Wahiawa General Hospital on Oahu. Services to be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 18, at St. Catherine’s of Alexandria Cemetery in Kapaa. Survived by daughters Desiree Ann (Stephen) Watson of Wailuku, Maui; Jasie Paula Teves of Kailua-Kona; and Cecilia Nakaahiki of Moreno Valley, Calif.; seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Gregory Lee Dilworth, 74, of Waimea died Oct. 17 at home. Born in Altadena, Calif., he was a retired microbiologist with the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Science. Arthur Kaanohi Kau, 74, of Kailua-Kona died Aug. 31. Born in Honolulu, he worked at the Kona Seaside Hotel and was a member of the Hawaii National Guard. Services to be held at a later date. Karen Gorke Klein, 76, of Kailua-Kona died Oct. 8 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Lake Charles, La., she was a retired environmental chemist and a founding member of feral cat support non-profit ADVOCATS. Private service to be held. Clara Fumika Madariaga, 83, of Hilo died Oct. 8 at home. Born in Keaau, she was a pantry worker for the former Sheraton Waiakea Village, retired pantry worker for Hilo Medical Center and a member of Puna Covenant Church. Private services held. Chieko Tanimoto, 103, of Hilo died Sept. 12 at home. Born in Hilo, she was a retired flower packer with the former Mauna Loa Orchids Nursery and a member of the Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin and the Buddhist Women’s Association. Private services held.
