The East Hawaii Cultural Center invited keiki to the lanai for the first Youth Art Series project since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
EHCC will continue its Youth Art Series with a free project available for keiki every second Saturday of the month.
Last Saturday, keiki painted old pieces of cardboard that will be put together as an upcycled sculpture.
The project will match the current exhibit at EHCC, which is called “Current Events” by Andrzej Kramarz.
The exhibition, created in collaboration with the Hawaii Wildlife Fund, features heaps of plastic debris collected from Kamilo Beach along with tattered old fishing nets, deposited unadorned throughout the EHCC gallery.
The exhibit will be on display until Friday, Nov. 26.
