Nomi Health, a direct health care company coordinating COVID-19 testing and vaccination efforts across the country, is launching a new COVID-19 testing site today in Hilo.

COVID-19 tests are offered at no cost to patients who access the walk-up site for rapid antigen or PCR nasal swab tests. Nomi Health bills the patient’s health care provider. However, health insurance is not a requirement to receive the test.

Big Island residents and visitors can get access to the Nomi Health testing site by preregistering at testing.nomihealth.com/signup/hawaii. After booking an appointment time, they will receive a QR code which should be brought to the testing site with a valid ID.

For more information, visit https://nomihealth.com/hawaii/ or call 808-207-5459 with any questions.

Today a grand opening giveaway is planned for the site, located at Waiakea Center in Hilo. The first 100 people on site will receive a sweet treat (Two Ladies Kitchen mochi) with their COVID test.

The test site is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Waiakea Center, 303-325 Makaala Street in Hilo. It’s located in the parking lot in front of the former Walgreens store.
