Chas William Kekoa Huston, 24, of Hilo died Sept. 2 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a recent graduate of University of Hawaii at Hilo, server at Miyo’s Restaurant and enjoyed gardening, exercising and surfing. Visitation 9-10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 4 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Memorial Services at 10 a.m. Face masks and social distancing required. Urn burial at Homelani Memorial Park, Lehua section, Survived by father, Darrell Huston of Hilo; mother, Marilou Sensano of Hilo; sister, Sarah Huston of Hilo; brother, Kawika Huston of Tacoma, Wash.; brother in-law, Jeremy Schroeder of Tacoma; paternal grandmother, Gwen Huston of Hawaiian Paradise Park; aunts, uncles and cousins. John Paul “JP” Maple, 80, of Volcano died Sept. 7 in Albuquerque, N.M. He was the owner of Rainbow Builders and will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, generosity, and devotion to his family. Sherran Velto Osborne, 68, of Captain Cook died Sept. 3 at home. Born in Escondido, Calif., she was a scholarship administrator. Services at a later date. Lucy Ahea Aiona Siu, 96, of Hilo died Aug. 13 at home. Born in Ho‘opuloa, South Kona, she was the last survivor of the original Ho‘‘opuloa village near Milolii, which was destroyed by a 1926 lava flow, was a preschool teacher, volunteered at Kaiser Hospital and County of Hawaii RSVP, and member of Alu Like Kupuna Program, Hilo Methodist Church, Hilo Missionary Church, and teacher of Hawaiian language and ukulele. She and her late husband, James B. Siu Sr., owned the former Ka‘u Fish Market and Wailoa Fish Market. Private burial service held. Memorial service at a later date. Earl E, “Gene” Stewart, 87,of Keaau died Sept. 17 at home. He was a retired produce manager for A & P Tea Co. in Toledo, Ohio. Memorial service at a later date. Visitation 3-4 p.m. Wednesday (Sept. 29) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service at 4 p.m. Committal service noon Thursday (Sept. 30) at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2 Pavilion. Casual attire.
