Annette Kunewa Aquino, 71, of Captain Cook died Sept. 10 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Kealakekua, she was a homemaker, housekeeper at Kona by The Sea, Kanaloa Condominiums, and Kona Hukilau Hotel, cocktail waitress at the King Kamehameha Hotel, attendant at Kona Laundry and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Services at a later date. Survived by son, Alexander (Amy) Aquino Jr. of Napoopoo; daughter, Lonnetta (Tammie) Aquino Fukushima of Captain Cook; sister, Marella (Kendall) Hakkei of Honalo; stepdaughter, Suzette (Don) Graycochea of Kahuku, Oahu; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. Carlotta Salomon Cablay, 87, of Kailua-Kona, formerly of Honolulu and Maui, died Aug. 30 at home. Born in Hilo, she was a hostess/cashier at the Ala Moana and Moana Surfrider hotels and pantry worker at Reef Hotel in Waikiki. Visitation 9 a.m.-noon Friday, Oct. 1, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo. Mass at 10 a.m. Burial of ashes 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 4, at Alae Cemetery in Hilo. Casual attire; no flowers. Survived by sons, Conrad (Gabby) Cablay of Mississippi and Terrence (Pamela) Cablay of Kona Palisades; daughters, Carolinda (David) Velez of Honokaa and Pamelyn (Derek) Cablay of Kihei, Maui; sister, Edel Madarang of Goodyear, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and a great-grandchild; nieces and nephews. Kelvin Keli‘ikuli Kaho‘opi‘i, 62, of Kapaau died Aug. 28 at home. Born in Kohala, he was a retired stevedore for Young Brothers. Services on Saturday, Oct. 2 in North Kohala. Geraldine “Gerry” N. Rivera, 74, of Holualoa died Sept. 15 at home.
