The state Department of Health today reported 431 new confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases statewide, including 59 on the Big Island.
An average of 484 new cases have been reported daily Sept. 12-18.
Hawaii County has a 6.3% test positivity rate, compared to a 5.7% positivity rate statewide. The county’s positivity rate is 1% lower than it was last Monday.
In the past 14 days, 288 infections have been reported in Hilo and 291 have been reported in Kailua-Kona.
During that same time period, 56 cases have been reported in Waimea, 101 in Pahoa, and 91 in Keaau.
Another 474 infections statewide were reported Sunday, 77 of which were on Hawaii Island.
Although no new deaths were reported today, 12 COVID-related deaths were reported Sunday.
According to the DOH, a Hawaii Island man was hospitalized and had underlying health conditions.
On Oahu, a woman over 80 died at home, while a woman and man, 30-39; two men, 40-49; one man 50-59; two men and one woman, 60-69; and one woman 70-79, were hospitalized.
A Maui man, 70-79, also was hospitalized.
All had underlying health conditions.
According to the DOH, 66.5% of Hawaii’s population has now been fully vaccinated against the novel coronavirus and 75% have received at least one dose.
In Hawaii County, 63% of residents are fully inoculated while 75% have received at least one dose.

Testing is available today from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium in Hilo, 2-4 p.m. at the Waimea District Park in Waimea, and until noon at the Honokaa Sports Complex in Honokaa.
