Henrietta Ululani Hanson, 89, of Hilo died Aug. 23 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, she was a retired department store retail sales worker and member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Keaukaha Ward. Private services held. Survived by husband, William Hanson of Hilo; children, Patricia (Eric) Hubner of Mountain View, Cynthia Abrahamson, William (Sung-Ju) Hanson, Carlett (Paul) Haney and Isaaca (Caroline) Hanson of Hilo; sister, Elaine Akau of Kailua, Oahu, 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; nephews, nieces and cousins. Watami “Shirley” Kishi, 94, of Hilo died Aug. 21 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a mechanic for the federal government in Guam, worked for Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Corp., and was a U.S. Army veteran during World War II. Private services held. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Survived by wife, Tomoko Kishi of Hilo; daughter, Nancy (Nolan) Kishi-Char of Honolulu; brothers, Yasutami Kishi and Norio Kishi of Hilo; sister, Shizuno Kishi of Hilo; a granddaughter; nieces and nephews. Richard Isao Sasaki, 77, of Keei died Aug. 8 at home. Born in Kohala, he was a retired high school teacher, U.S. Army and Hawaii Army National Guard retiree, U.S. Army reservist and member of Keei Kumiai, Kona Hongwanji Buddhist Temple, Big Island National Guard Retired Association, Disabled American Veterans and Hawaii State Teachers Association-retired. Private services at a later date. Survived by wife, Grace Sasaki of Keei; sons, Jason Sasaki of Keei, Justin (Wendi) Sasaki and Jonathan (Candace) Sasaki of Kailua-Kona; daughter, Wendy (Paul) Buchheit of Las Vegas.; brother, Guy Sasaki of Kohala; sister, Suzanne Sasaki of Kohala; nine grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
