Police ID motorcyclist killed in Puna crash

A 36-year-old man killed Tuesday when his motorcycle collided with a dump truck has been identified as Arif L. McCluer of Pahoa.

Officers responding to a traffic collision at 4:08 p.m. in the area between the 4- and 5-mile markers of Highway 132 determined that McCluer, who was riding a 2009 Kawasaki motorcycle, was traveling east on Highway 132 when he crossed the double solid yellow line and struck an eastbound 2001 tandem dump truck head-on.

The man driving the dump truck was uninjured.
