The state Department of Health today has reported 752 new COVID-19 cases across Hawaii.
Of those, 163 are on the Big Island, the biggest single-day case count Hawaii County has tallied since the start of the pandemic.
The number of cases reported in Hawaii County since the pandemic began in early 2020 now totals 6,003.
Hawaii County has a 7.5% test positivity rate, compared to a 7.6% positivity rate statewide.
According to data from the DOH, 407 cases have been reported in Hilo in the past 14 days, while 385 have been identified in Kailua-Kona during the same time period.
A total of 8,662 cases have been reported statewide in the past 14 days and there has been an average of 713 new cases daily Aug. 11-17.
The DOH also reported four COVID-related deaths today, including three on Oahu — a woman age 60-69, a man over 80 and a woman over 80 — and one on Kauai, a man age 60-69.
According to the department, all four individuals were hospitalized and had underlying health conditions.
Testing is available from noon to 4 p.m. today at Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium in Hilo.
