Ronald Eldon Bachman, 84, of Hilo died Aug. 6 at home. Born in Hoolehua, Molokai, he was a retired wildlife biologist and avid outdoorsman, starting with the Territory of Hawaii Department of Fish &Game, a graduate of Oregon State University and Hawaii Army National Guard veteran. Kimiko Mary Chinen, 89, of Hilo died July 25 at a private care home. Born in Koza City, Okinawa, she was a retired factory worker for Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Co., member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou and Hui Okinawa. Private services held. Michael Clyde Palmer, 69, of Waikoloa and Johnstown, Colo., died Aug. 9 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Santa Monica, Calif., he was a business owner, audio console builder for radio stations, scuba diver, member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, board member of Homeowners Association for Waikoloa Colony Villas and graduate of the University of California at Berkeley with a bachelor’s degree in physics.
