DOH: 549 COVID-19 cases statewide, 122 on Big Island

The state Department of Health today reported 549 new cases of COVID-19 statewide, including 122 on the Big Island.

Hawaii County currently has a 7.4% test positivity rate compared to the 7.3% positivity rate statewide.

According to the DOH, 6,709 new cases have been reported in Hawaii in the past 14 days. There has been an average of 512 new cases daily Aug. 4-10.

The department today also reported the COVID-related death of an Oahu man, 30-39, who had been hospitalized and had underlying health conditions.
