Darren Isaac Hopfe Sr., 52, of Mountain View, died June 15 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, he was an auto mechanic. No services. Mutsumi Komo, 93, of Keopu died July 10 at Hospice of Kona’s Nakamaru Hale. Born in Kealakekua, she was the treasurer for K. Komo Store Inc. and member of Kona Hongwanji Buddhist Women’s Association, Kona Hongwanji Buddhist Temple and Keopu Citizens Club. Private services at a later date. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Survived by husband, Kenneth Komo of Keopu; sons, Patrick (Lori) Komo of Keopu and Russell (Deloa) Komo of Kalaoa, Kona; daughter, Karen (David) Kurihara of Honolulu; brother, Allen Deguchi of Campbell, Calif.; sister, Fujie Inouye of Honolulu; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. Veronica Maile (Kapahua/Kamelamela) Magno, 77, of Hilo died June 18 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, she was a retired reservation supervisor for the former Naniloa Hotel, cashier for the former Da Store in Hilo and member of New Hope Hilo. Visitation 5-6 p.m. Thursday (July 29) at New Hope Hilo. Wake service at 6 p.m. Visitation again 9 -10 a.m. Friday, July 30, at the church. Funeral service at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park, Lehua section. Casual attire; masks and social distancing required. Patrick Paul Riveira, 73, of Hawi died July 9 at Life Care Center of Kona. Born in Hakalau, he was a retired kitchen utility worker for the former Hyatt Waikoloa and U.S. Army veteran. The family of the late Jeffrey Wong Belanio Jr. has canceled a celebration of life scheduled for Saturday and published in an obituary on Wednesday. Services will be held at a later date, according to Dodo Mortuary.
