Wayne John Galante, 77, of Holualoa died on May 24 at Hale Ho‘ola Hamakua in Honokaa. Born in Denver, he was the dentist and founder of West Hawaii Dental Associates in Kealakekua, attended Oregon State University as an undergraduate, attended dental school at the University of Oregon in Portland, was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a dentist for the Navy on Oahu. Mary Jane Dykstra Havlicek, 79, of Pahoa died May 28 at her home. Born in Michigan, she graduated from Hope College, received a master’s degree in chemistry from Ohio State University, and doctorate in chemistry from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, was president and founder of Central Coast Analytical Services, a senior research chemist for Air Liquide Electronics, taught chemistry at several colleges across the United States, authored more than 30 professional publications and held four U.S. patents. Memorial service 11 a.m. Saturday, June 26 at Kalapana Mauna Kea First Hawaiian Congregational Church in Pahoa. Attire is bright clothes. Deborah Starr Kehaulani Patnaude, 72, of Hilo died June 5 at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Hilo, she was a retired employee of Business Insurance Services and a graduate of Saint Joseph High School. Private services were held. Kun Sapino Sigrah, 45, of Waikoloa died May 16 at his residence. Born in Kosrae Island, Micronesia, he was an engineer at the Four Seasons Resort, attended University of Hawaii at Hilo, was an Iraq War combat veteran, retired as Sergeant in the Army National Guard, was a member of the Kosrae Congregational Church and an avid fisherman. Services were held at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery. Survived by wife, Leilani Sigrah of Waikoloa; sons, J.R. (Janice) Sigrah of Missouri and Bojay (Alleri) Sigrah of Waikola; daughters, Alice (Benson) Aloka, Kaiolani (B.J.) Esau, Noelani Sigrah, all of Waikoloa; mother, Isako Sigrah of Kosrae; brothers, Johnny (Susin) Sigrah, Jack (Srue) Sigrah and Raymond (Lillian) Sigrah of Kosrae, Robert (Wanda) Sigrah, Bob (Batsipa) Sigrah, John (Wanda) Sigrah, and Fred Sigrah, of Waikoloa; sisters, Edwina (Wright) Abraham and Lurlyn (Bensyley) Jerry, of Kosrae; 11 grandchildren; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Ernest Rikio Yoshioka, 86, of Hilo died May 16 at his home. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired entomologist on the Big Island for the state Department of Agriculture.
