Fire caused about $10,000 damage late Wednesday night to what a Hawaii Fire Department statement describes as “an unfinished residential structure” in Nanawale Estates.

Seven units responded to the 11:36 p.m. alarm. The first unit to arrive, about 12 minutes later, found the 600-square foot, single-story structure on Colby Court partially involved in flames.

The fire was reported under control at 11:58 p.m. and extinguished at 12:45 a.m. Thursday.

No injuries were reported and there was no one home at the house, which firefighters said appeared to be abandoned with no power or water, although a neighbor claimed someone was living there.

According to the statement, firefighters saved about $5,000 in property value.

The cause of the fire was listed as unknown and under investigation.
