Eleuteria Ventura Candelario, 79, of Kalopa died May 17 at home. Born in Isabela, Philippines, she was a retired laundry worker for a hotel in Waikoloa. Visitation 3-4 p.m. Saturday, June 5, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Memorial service at 4 p.m. Face masks and social distancing required. Survived by children, Laureto (Nellie) Candelario, Ulysis (Dominga) Candelario, Remedios (Felix) Tabudlo, Edwin (Agustina) Candelario and Theody (Christina) Candelario of Honokaa, Alex (Evelyn) Candelario of Waimea; sisters, Victoria Guillermo, Segundina Hilario, Carolina (Gregorio) Constantino and Felissa Macadangdang of the Philippines; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Lynne Masae Holub, 67, of Pahoa died May 6 at home. Born in Hilo, she retired from the state Department of Education as an elementary school teacher and worked most of her career at Kaumana Elementary and Keonepoko Elementary schools. Private services held. No flowers. Survived by husband, John Holub of Pahoa; daughters, Jolyn (Tommy) Fieweger of Portland, Ore., Jaime (Stan Rosario) Campbell of Big Bear Lake, Calif., and Kristen Thomas of Becker, Minn.; son, Michael (Britny) Holub of Mesa, Ariz.; brothers, Glenn Nakamura and Alton (Junette) Nakamura of Hilo; seven grandchildren; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Francis Rodillas, 94, of Hilo died May 13 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a retired Hawaii Police Department lieutenant, retired U.S. Army 1st lieutenant, member and extraordinary minister of St. Joseph Catholic Church and member of Ancient Order of Foresters Court Mauna Kea No. 8854, Y.M.I. and Knights of Columbus. Visitation 9-10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 2, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Face masks and social distancing required. Private burial with military honors to follow at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Survived by sons, Charles P. (Patricia) Rodillas of North Carolina and Francis H. (Martha) Rodillas of Hilo; daughter, Davon (Douglas) Lowrimore of Hilo; brother, Charles Rodillas of Hilo; nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Chiyoko Sato, 97, of Hilo died May 2 at a private care home. Born in Hilo, she moved to Honolulu and was employed at Kudich Insurance, Kodak and Andrade’s Dress Shop, later moved back to Hilo and was a member of Hilo Hooganji Temple and volunteered for the county. Private services held. Survived by son, Wendell (Gayle) Sato; brother-in-law, Hisashi Ikeda; sister-in-law, Tsuruyo Fukushima; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Ira Woolery, 68, of Hilo died May 9 at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born in Okinawa, Japan, he was a retired information technology system administrator for General Dynamics, an IBM computer programmer, member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a U.S. Army veteran. Private services. Survived by daughters, Tiffany Weber of Arlington, Texas, Ariel Hammack of Hilo, Adrienne (William) Draper of Richardson, Texas; brothers, Jerry (Cynthia) Woolery of Charlotte, N.C., William (Virginia) Woolery of Waterloo, N.Y.; sister, Kathleen Woolery of Pahoa; four grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
