Police identified a woman who died as the result of a traffic crash Tuesday as 37-year-old Megan Valerie Myers of Kailua-Kona.

Police say Meyers was driving a white 2017 Subaru sport-utility vehicle north, crossed the centerline and struck a 2018 Peterbilt tractor-trailer truck head on. Meyers’ SUV was then struck on the passenger side by a northbound white 2018 Toyota Highlander SUV.

Neither the 39-year-old man driving the tractor-trailer nor the 62-year-old man driving the Toyota SUV were seriously injured.

Meyers’ death is the ninth traffic fatality this year compared to eight at this time last year.
