Ten new COVID-19 cases were reported Thursday on the Big Island, bringing the total number of cases to 2,721.
Statewide, 128 new cases were reported Thursday by the state Department of Health. Oahu had 99, Maui County had 10 and four new cases were reported on Kauai. Five residents were diagnosed while outside the state.
The Big Island test positivity rate increased to 0.7% on Thursday, but remained under the statewide rate of 1.7%.
During the past two weeks, 61 cases have been reported on the Big Island, an average of 4.9 cases per day. Twenty of those cases were reported in Kailua-Kona and 14 in Hilo.
On Thursday, 55 people were hospitalized throughout the state, including two on the Big Island. To date, 2,517 people have required hospitalization, including 120 on the Big Island.
One new coronavirus-related death was reported by the state Thursday. The death was on Oahu.
Of the 485 coronavirus-related deaths confirmed and reported by the state to date, 376 were on Oahu, 52 were on Maui, 53 were on the Big Island and two on Kauai. Three deaths were among residents outside the state.
