Muriel Doris Ahuna, 84, of Waimea died April 19 at home. Born in Honolulu, she was a retired waitress with the former Elaine’s Hale Kuke Restaurant, a member of the Imiola Congregational Church and a former official of the Kawaihae Canoe Club. Private services held. Survived by companion, Luis Hector Ortiz of Waimea; sons, Oscar Salvador Nailima Ahuna and George Emerson Pikowaiohinu Ahuna of Waimea; daughters, Athena Kaleihilani (Bud) Luth of Kona and Muriel Carrie Hauoli (Winton) Ahuna-Leong of Pahoa; sisters, Antoinette Hirai, Barbara Dacoscos, Charlene (Michael) Chang and Yolanda Paleras of Honolulu, Rubbe Linares of Arizona, Kathrine (Sonia) Dacoscos of Las Vegas; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Anna Yin Tai Ching Chow, 94, of Hilo died April 8 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, she was a retired elementary school teacher who taught at several schools including Keaukaha Elementary and a member of Hilo Seventh-day Adventist Church. Visitation only 4-6 p.m. Sunday, May 2 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Private service and burial Monday, May 3, at Homelani Memorial Park. Casual attire. Face masks and social distancing required. Gary R. Cinco Sr., 82, of Las Vegas, formerly of Hawaii Island, died April 4 in Las Vegas. Born in Laupahoehoe, he was retired from S&W Fine Foods. Private family services in Fresno, Calif. Pedro Gumtang Queja, 100, of Hilo died March 11 at home. Born in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he was an intermediate school teacher in the Philippines, retired kitchen utility worker at the former Naniloa Surf Hotel and member of the First United Protestant Church in Hilo.
