Hawaii has hit a major vaccination milestone.

The state Department of Health reported that 1,007,966 vaccine doses have been administered as of Wednesday.

Of those, 768,890 have been administered by the DOH and hospitals statewide, 128,783 have been given by federal agencies such as the U.S. Department of Defense and 110,293 have been administered through federal programs for nursing homes and long-term care facilities.

On the Big Island, 35% of residents have received at least one vaccine dose, while 22% have completed a vaccination series.

The DOH today reported 98 new COVID-19 cases statewide, 14 of which are on the Big Island.

Hawaii County has a 1.4% test positivity rate, compared to a 1.6% positivity rate statewide.

According to data from the DOH, 33 cases have been reported in Hilo over the past 14 days, while 57 cases have been identified in Kailua-Kona during the same time frame.

According to Hawaii County Civil Defense, five people are currently hospitalized on the Big Island.

Three district COVID-19 tests are scheduled Saturday: from 8 a.m. to noon at the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium in Hilo, from 1-5 p.m. at Keaau High School and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. At the West Hawaii Civic Center in Kailua-Kona.
