Virginia “Ginny” Darlene Barrett, 85, of Kailua-Kona died March 8 at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in Kingsburg, Calif., she was a secretary for Barrett Construction Co., sewing hobbyist and member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Services at a later date. Survived by husband, Thomas Barrett of Kailua-Kona; sons, Thomas (Mareva) Barrett III and Joseph (Valentina) Barrett of Kailua-Kona, Brett (Lilly) Barrett of Woodland Hills, Calif.; sister, Thelma (Joseph) Goulart of San Diego; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. Paulette Helene Coddington, 79, of Kailua-Kona died March 13 at home. Born in Portland, Ore., she was an owner of Gary L. Coddington, General Contractor. Private services at a later date. Irene Loeyland Lindsey Fergerstrom, 89, of Waimea died March 18 at Queen’s North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in Waimea, she was a homemaker, retired cattle rancher and member of the Ka‘ahumanu Society and Hale ‘O Na Ali‘i. Private services held. Survived by sons, Gary (Valerie) Fergerstrom of Kailua-Kona, Rocket (Melanie) Fergerstrom of Waimea and Don (Gretchen) Fergerstrom of Kohala; daughters, Dale (Gordon) Roque and Marla Fergerstrom of Waimea, Romona (Russell) Fergerstrom-Kalalau of Hilo; sisters, Eva Kealamakia of Waimea and Grace (Al) Spenser of Wailuku, Maui; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins. Addison Earl “Bud” Harrison, 79, of Kailua-Kona died March 9 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Hood River, Ore., he was a retired high school English teacher. Services at a later date. Robert Keanokealakahikikapoleikamakaopua Kaupu Jr., 101, of Hilo died March 21 at home. Born in South Kona, he was a retired county heavy equipment operator for the County of Hawaii, longtime youth coach and girl’s softball coach at St. Joseph High School, BIIF official in baseball, football and softball for seven decades, umpired University of Hawaii at Hilo baseball games and was a Hawaii Army National Guard veteran and member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Visitation 9-10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 30, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Face masks and social distancing required. Burial at Alae Cemetery, Mormon section. Survived by wife, Geraldine “Geri” I.
