Police say a 46-year-old Alaska man was critically injured Friday afternoon at Honokohau Small Boat Harbor in Kona after being run over by a pickup truck he was working on.

Responding officers determined the man was working underneath the 1993 Ford F250 pickup in the parking lot of the Big Island Sailing Foundation at the north side of the harbor.

According to police, no one was in the truck at the time of the incident.

The man, whose identity the police haven’t released, was taken to Kona Community Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.
