Gov. David Ige approved COVID-19 emergency rule amendments for the Big Island signed into effect Monday by Mayor Mitch Roth, which ease certain restrictions.

The amendments include:

• An increases in outdoor gatherings from 10 to 25.

• Institutes a larger gatherings request process with guidelines.

• Increases non-organized pick-up sports games limits from 10 to 25 participants.

• Opens more Parks and Recreation facilities.

The amended rule takes effect immediately and shall continue through April 12, unless otherwise specified.
