The number of new COVID-19 cases on the Big Island remains small, with just one new case reported Thursday by the state Department of Health.
According to a weekly cluster report issued by the DOH, no COVID-19 clusters have been under investigation on Hawaii Island in the last 14 days.
Statewide, only 45 new COVID-19 cases were reported Thursday, including 24 on Oahu, 18 on Maui, and two residents diagnosed outside the state. The number of COVID-related deaths statewide remains at 435.
As of Thursday, 326,766 vaccine doses have been administered statewide, up 8,224 from the previous day.
According to the DOH, approximately 60% of the estimated 107,600 individuals over the age of 75 have so far received at least one dose of the vaccine.
That number, however, is based on doses counted in the federal government’s vaccine administration management system, not those administered through the Federal Pharmacy Program and federal agencies, which includes some long-term care facilities.
According to data from the DOH, about 12.7% of Hawaii County’s 201,500 residents have received at least one vaccine dose, compared to 14.6% on Oahu, 18% on Kauai and 9.1% on Maui.
On the Big Island, 35,926 doses have been administered, including 25,635 first doses of the vaccine and 10,291 second doses.
Approximately 5.1% of people have completed both vaccine doses.
The state had ordered 422,490 doses of the vaccine as of Wednesday and received 380,310.
