Gilbert “Bobby” Estabilio, 80, of Kapaau died Dec. 23 at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in Hilo, he was an agriculture researcher for the state of Hawaii. Private services held. Shiro Takata, 91, of Hawi died Jan. 12 at home. Born in North Kohala, he was owner of Takata Store and founded the Kohala Community Athletic Association. Private services. Frances Akiona Cahill Tarallo, 93, of Kailua-Kona and San Bruno, Calif., died Jan. 25 in Ocean View. Born in Honolulu, she was a retired Department of Defense contract specialist. Franklin Roosevelt Yangson, 86, of Honaunau died Jan. 16 in Captain Cook. Born in Moanaloa, Molokai, he was a design mechanical engineer for Hughes Aircraft and worked for the Apollo Space Program and General Motor’s electric cars. Services at later date.
