The state Department of Health reports five new coronavirus cases in Hawaii County today, with 132 new cases statewide.

There are two people hospitalized on the Big Island, with no deaths reported in the past three weeks.

There have been 2,113 Hawaii Island COVID-19 cases confirmed since the beginning of the pandemic.

There have been 51 coronavirus-related deaths on the Big Island, according to Hawaii County Civil Defense. DOH has confirmed 45 of those.

The average new case count on the Big Island over the past seven days is 8.3 and the infection rate is 1.4%.

Hilo Medical Center, North Hawaii Community Hospital and Kona Community Hospital are offering vaccine registration to individuals who are 75 and older. Registration instructions and more information are available on their websites.
