DOH reports 179 new COVID-19 cases, 13 on Big Island

The state Department of Health today has reported 13 new cases of COVID-19 on the Big Island.

Statewide, there are 179 new coronavirus cases.

According to data from the DOH, Hawaii County has a 2% test positivity rate, compared to the statewide positivity rate of 3%.

In the past two weeks, 24 cases have been reported in Hilo, 57 in Kona and 19 in North Hawaii.

According to Hawaii County Civil Defense, three people are hospitalized and no deaths have been reported in the last two weeks.
