Police seek truck occupants as possible murder witnesses

UPDATE: Police said Tuesday they found the driver of a white Nissan Frontier they wanted to interview as a potential witness in the Dec. 18 fatal shooting of 41-year-old Benjamin Craig Davidson in the parking lot of the Puainako Town Center in Hilo.

Police are requesting the public’s assistance in finding the driver a pickup truck spotted shortly after 4 a.m. Dec. 18 in the parking lot of the Puainako Town Center in Hilo.

The truck, which is described as a white Nissan Frontier king-cab pickup truck with a dark-colored pipe rack, was captured on video surveillance in the McDonald’s drive-through and then seen driving through the parking lot.

Police want to interview the driver and possible occupants as potential witnesses to the shooting that killed 41-year-old Benjamin Craig Davidson.

Anyone who may have information on the identity of the truck’s driver is asked to call the police nonemergency line at 935-3311 or Crime Stoppers at 961-8300.
