Starting this week, residential customers are encouraged to “tree-cycle” their holiday trees and kadomatsu decorations.

This can be done at the following county recycling and transfer stations between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on the normal days of greenwaste disposal services: Keaau, Pahoa, Kealakehe (Kailua-Kona), Ke‘ei and Waimea and at the East Hawaii Organics Facility in Hilo and West Hawaii Organics Facility in Pu‘uanahulu.

This service will be available to the public today through Jan. 15.
