According to a newly released survey by the University of Hawaii, only 44% of Hawaii residents plan to take a COVID-19 vaccine when it becomes available.

Despite the worsening pandemic throughout the United States, and despite the fact that 54% of respondents expect the pandemic to become worse in the next several months, less than half of Hawaii residents plan to be vaccinated, and another 37% are still unsure whether they will.

According to a nationwide October Gallup poll, 58% of U.S. residents plan to receive the vaccine when it becomes available.
