Masae Sakamoto Leslie, 82, of Kealakekua, died Sept. 4 in San Diego. Born on Oahu, she was a public school teacher and member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Services held. Cheryl Balbirona Midel, 67, of Keaau died Nov. 5 at home. Born in Laupahoehoe, she was a homemaker, babysitter and former Pahoa High bowling coach. Betty Etsuko Nagao, 90, of Hilo died Nov. 2 at a private care home. Born in Hilo, she was the original director of Kaumana Baptist Keikiland and co-founder and administrator of Hawaii Island Adult Day Care Center. Private services held at a later date. Nagao of Hilo; daughters, Vicki (Lloyd) Narimatsu and Ada Hayashi of Hilo; brother, Ronald Kuwahara of California; sisters, Shizue Miyasato and Ellen Fukuda of Honolulu; sisters-in-law, Kazuko Young of California, Miyo Kuwahara of Honolulu, Irene Nagao and Ellen Nagao of Hilo; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Eric Wade Ramos, 57, of Hilo, formerly of Honolulu, died Nov. 10 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, he worked in the restaurant industry and at Times Supermarket. Private services.
