Hawaii County Civil Defense has reported four new cases of COVID-19 on the Big Island today.

As of today, 10 individuals are hospitalized and the number of COVID-related deaths remain at 48.

Most of those now being affected on the Big Island are under the age of 40 and based in West Hawaii, Civil Defense said. Because of this, increased testing, especially in the Kona area, is being scheduled.

Testing will be available Wednesday from 9 a.m.-noon at Keauhou Shopping Center in Kailua-Kona and from 3-6 p.m. at the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium in Hilo.

An ohana food service also is scheduled from 10 a.m.-noon Wednesday at the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium.
