The Kona Crime Prevention Committee has recognized Officer Ansel Robinson as the Kona Officer of the month for April 2020.

Robinson was selected as the Officer of the Month for his determination with regard to a hit-and-run incident involving a drunken driver.

Robinson was able to locate the suspect vehicle and subsequently arrest and charge the driver with DUI, reckless endangerment and reckless driving.

Due to COVID-19, this is only the fourth award this year, as KCPC postponed all award presentations from April through September.
