Hawaii County Civil Defense this morning reported a single-day record high for newly reported COVID-18 cases, 45.

“Many of these new cases are concentrated within known clusters of infections,” Civil Defense’s morning message said, but didn’t identify those clusters.

According to Hawaii Island, nine coronavirus patients are currently hospitalized. The Big Island has reported 36 coronavirus-related deaths, to date.

There’s a free drive-up test today until noon at Keauhou Shopping Center in Kona.

There are two free testing sites Saturday between 9 a.m.-1 p.m., at the West Hawaii Civic Center in Kona and Kamakoa Nui Park in Waikoloa village.

The tests are free to the public, but those with health insurance are asked to bring their insurance cards.
