Hawaiian Airlines will increase flights between Honolulu and the mainland over the next month in preparation for the state’s preflight COVID-19 testing program, which goes into effect on Oct. 15.

Beginning tomorrow, Hawaiian Airlines will resume nonstop service between Daniel K. Inouye International Airport and McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas. Nonstop service will be reinstated between Honolulu and international airports in Oakland, Phoenix and San Jose on Nov. 1.

By Nov. 18, Hawaiian will serve 10 West Coast cities, including nonstop flights between Maui and Los Angeles, Oakland, Portland, Seattle, San Jose and Sacramento.

Hawaiian also will increase the frequency of existing nonstop service between Honolulu and Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle, Sacramento, San Diego and San Francisco.

As part of Hawaii’s preflight COVID-19 testing program, all Hawaiian Airlines travelers departing from Los Angeles or San Francisco will have access to drive-through COVID-19 tests. Testing will be available for $90, which generates results within 36 hours, or for $150, which grants results within a day.

A negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of arrival in Hawaii will make the traveler exempt from the 14-day quarantine restriction.

Other testing locations are “coming soon,” according to Hawaiian.

Hawaiian Airlines also is resuming international passenger service tomorrow, with weekly flights between Honolulu and Narita International Airport in Tokyo.
