DOH reports 90 new COVID-19 cases statewide, 2 more deaths on Oahu

The state Department of Health reported 90 new COVID-19 cases today, with 83 cases on Oahu, six on Hawaii Island and two on Maui County.

That brings the total number of cases statewide to 11,779.

There were also two deaths reported, both on Oahu.

The new cases bring Hawaii County’s total since the pandemic began to 677, as one Big Island case has been removed from the count.

The City and County of Honolulu have reported 10,627 cases, Maui County 388 and Kauai County 57, with 30 cases of Hawaii residents diagnosed outside the state.

The DOH’s death toll of 124 doesn’t include several from the veterans home due to their verification requirements.

According to DOH, 779 cases required hospitalization, while 5,265 individuals have been released from isolation as “recovered.”
