Civil Defense: 2 more COVID-19 deaths of veterans home residents; Big Island death toll now 15

Hawaii County Civil Defense this morning reported two more deaths of COVID-19 on the Big Island, both from the Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home in Hilo.

That brings the Big Island’s coronavirus-related death toll to 15, with 14 from the veterans facility.

Civil Defense reports six new active COVID-19 cases on the island, reported and monitored by the state Department of Health. There are 21 hospitalized COVID-19 patients on the island, according to the report.

There are two COVID-19 test clinics scheduled for today. One is at Keaau High School from now until 1 p.m. today. The other is at Kamehameha Park in North Kohala between 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

There is also testing scheduled for 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday at Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium in Hilo.
