Anthony Bernard Mathis, 65, of Honomu died Aug. 6 in Hilo. Born in March of 1955 in Cienfuegos, Cuba, he operated Akaka Falls Inn with his mother, worked in the social services field and graduated from the University of Hawaii School of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources in Hilo, with a major in psychology and minor in tropical agriculture.
